CE’s Energy Centre Week 4
By the end of Week 4 a fair bit of progress has been made, unfortunately much of it is underground and cannot be seen. The installation of piping the site mobilization is complete, which includes site trailers with temporary services, security fencing, vehicle and pedestrian access, tree removal, and implementation of the "tree preservation" plan.

This piping will service Sir John A Macdonald School and was installed early to avoid the upcoming school year.

A small portion of the several kilometers of pipe that will ultimately be installed awaits pre-fabrication before placing it in trenches.

The excavation along York Street is one of the deepest trenches in order for us to get our district heating pipe under existing services. Note the pre-fabricated pipe sitting on the sidewalk waiting to be slipped into the trench.

Crews prepare the pile driving equipment, which will place twenty five piles deep into the ground to support the 75 ton engine that will produce the heat and electricity. We have eagerly awaited this moment because this means we will actually begin to see progress above ground!
